  1. @ottomeister Not sure I can drive an optoisolator from a PC's parallel port (no +V supply pin to source current for the LEDs).
  2. @ottomeister Have done some thinking. I may have to use a 9V battery and perhaps a 78L05 (and a couple of caps) in the corner of the board.
  3. @ottomeister I don't get to specify the TTL chips, they are whatever the mainboard (or perhaps chipset) vendor put on the parallel port.
  4. Looking for a clean way to interface 6V CMOS to 5V TTL. #electronics
  5. I don't usually tweet about blog posts, but I've deliberately neglected this blog for about six months so... http://potchery.blogspot.com/
  6. @glennklockwood Does the Blade 150 only take unregistered DIMMs??
  7. Opened up my old blog to compose the first post in six months and ended up testing VNC in response to a comment. Didn't get the post done.
  8. @AmandaMcKay "People am dumb."
  9. @anildash "NONE OF THEM MAKE MONEY!"
  10. @ruskin147 I nominate the one I'd start if I had any capital! ;-)
  11. @andysc Ah, pity. You could watch the film anyway though. http://www.hbo.com/films/stlm/
  12. @andysc If that's about what it sounds like, the film 'Something the Lord Made' is in part about pioneering cardiology work.
  13. Forcing myself to go to bed. I'm going to hurt in the morning anyway.
  14. Reading about UltraSPARC T1 and T2 "Niagara" microprocessors.
  15. @wrwalke Real-world numbers. Thanks, I'm glad I follow you!
  16. Wondering about the reliability implications of increasing server density. I suppose it depends what chips, drives etc. you're cramming in.
  17. Trying to understand what's happening in Urumqi. Thankfully the BBC don't try to portray the situation as clear–cut.
  18. @ChinnoDog Pascal has a reputation for being readable and maintainable. Mostly though, it makes me happy.
  19. Getting started with FreePascal on Ubuntu Linux. Pity there's not a NetBSD port. #ubuntu #netbsd #pascal
  20. I miss being able to program computers.
