  1. @thesufferfest The Fight Club was what we did! I'll get some feedback to you between Christmas and New Year
  2. @Humphr Peak? What is this "peak" you speak of?
  3. @velocast Ah I've got you. It's been a long year! Time for a break. It seems very wrong that it was 20 years ago, I agree.
  4. @velocast Not sure I follow you. It's a link to one of a series of articles published by @cyclesportmag in 2009. It's about the 1989 Tour.
  5. @phips73 Yes, but I haven't been out on the road at all in that time. Can feel my waistline expanding and my legs weakening.
  6. I've managed one one-hour turbo session on the bike in the past ten days. Work, Christmas parties and now the snow have undone 6 weeks' work
  7. Why the 1989 Tour de France was the greatest of all time. Cycle Sport magazine's Big Read of 2009 http://tinyurl.com/yazc34q
  8. @strags Happy Christmas to you and Penny too. Very best wishes.
  9. @Humphr Wednesday Comment returns in the new year. Happy Christmas.
  10. On reflection did we really need half a kilo of smoked salmon considering I'm the only person in the house who likes it?
  11. @Observer_Owl That's democracy at work. One public authority blaming another. Gives you a warm glow doesn't it.
  12. Elderly and vulnerable people are effectively trapped in their homes.
  13. Watford and Herts councils ought to be ashamed of their failure to grit or clear almost all of the pavements four days after the snow.
  14. Football is absolutely mental. Manchester City sack a manager who's got them to a cup semi-final and lost only two league games this season
  15. @AlbertinaPdC Not at all. I have good wine and plenty of food!
  16. RT @JeremyMonkey: Ashcroft saw a struggling club sitting on some decent real estate. He just had to wait and make his move. Goodbye The Vic.
  17. As a friend said on hearing Russo had accepted Ashcroft's offer: "I'm looking for the world's smallest flag to wave in celebration".
  18. I hope Watford supporters are circumspect and cautious before hailing Ashcroft as any kind of heroic saviour.
  19. The club has avoided administration but with Ashcroft now in a strong position I can't help but be cynical about his motives.
  20. After a totally depressing week at Watford FC, finding it very hard to see anything worth supporting in all this other than Graham Taylor.
