  1. Thinking how uni infrastructure could help with independent learning, e.g. students able to book rooms, resources, etc.
  2. Blown away by response to use of Wordle, which no-one in the room had ever seen before... it was like bonfire night all over again :-)
  3. Having lots of fun running a staff dev't workshop on supporting independent learning - loads of good stuff spilling out :-)
  4. @kjarrett ...despite this, vast majority are passionate teachers and feel that teaching informs their artistic practice and vice versa.
  5. @kjarrett Am in a room full of 2nd-career teachers - art & design educators - mostly a case of having to teach to fund their art!
  6. My lovely train company are striking again today. How exciting! :-)
  7. @timbuckteeth A small role - but it's there!!! It's not dead!! "Come here, I'll bite your legs off" said the VLE :-)
  8. @timbuckteeth tee hee... a model proposed by David Delgado and seemingly seconded by @timbuckteeth :-D
  9. Thinking it is a bit cheeky of @timbuckteeth to propose VLE is dead when slide 28 includes (gasp) an 'LMS' http://is.gd/4RKZo ...?!
  10. @josiefraser In the absence of any further info I will stand by the side of the M1 in warm coat on 16th with placard stating 'VLE debate'
  11. Also interested in sub-pg-level short courses in teaching/learning online, O/D learning, etc - if they exist... it's not for me btw :-)
  12. Anyone like to voice a first-hand and up-to-date recommendation for a PG course in open/distance learning?
  13. My mother is 60 today. Happy birthday mum - enjoy the chocolate raisins ;-)
  14. @AJCann I'm not much of a chocolate eater myself but I've found it an excellent tool for learning, teaching & change management.
  15. @AJCann It *is* true that dark chocolate prevents wrinkles, and even improves existing ones, but you have to spread it on real thick...
  16. Thanks for all your comments on mars bars and approaches to learning... I shall aim to reflect on them in a deep way...
  17. And do I now need to go and purchase mars bars or will students have understood that said bars were merely symbolic...?
  18. Hmm... does being motivated by the desire for a mars bar encourage a surface approach to learning?
  19. @Emmadw Give students article with pointers and questions on own blog and offer mars bars for comments on blog, most will read article :-D
  20. @nrparmar Tnx... but was swamped with wave invites ;-) Let me know if u fancy some collaborative sudoko, @paullowe is rubbish at it :-)
