  1. @danielpunkass 3.1 ?
  2. @rob_rix It was terribly slow and buggy for me on 10.4, but with 10.6 it is faster than QS. (at least for me)
  3. @spartanvet I was attending a seminar on phylogenetics.
  4. "When parsimony ceases to be a guideline and is instead elevated to an ex cathedra pronouncement, parsimony analysis ceases to be science."
  5. This talk confirms what I've always thought about phylogenetics. We aren't looking for truth, we're looking for trees with nice structure.
  6. Phylogenetics requires you to use genes which have slow rates of evolution, but those rates are determined by phylogentics. #ChickenAndEgg
  7. What is more likely statistically, that photosynthesis evolved several times independently or that the tree of life is assembled incorrectly
  8. epa guidelines: "Get Vitamin D Safely through a diet that includes vitamin supplements. Don't seek the sun" Don't go outside, take pills!
  9. @culturedcode, what are the chances of Things getting support for sequential projects before my OmniFocus trial runs out in 6 days?
  10. What we need is the phylogenetics version of DREAM http://bit.ly/4oqJ8b
  11. @spartanvet That's the problem. Nearly every phylogen talk I have attended follows this format old way: bad our way: good verification: none
  12. Dear Gracenote cd database submitters, the disk number is not part of the album name.
  13. @spartanvet How can you prove that one phylogenetic assembly technique is better than any other, or better than random.
  14. Another phylogenetics talk today. Wonder if I should ask my standard phylogenetics talk question.
  15. LDS Scriptures for the iPhone version 1.2 is now available from the app store: http://bit.ly/1mtn01
  16. Moneywell's memo field is great place to store those typically useless but sometimes critical order ID's you get when making some purchases.
  17. @aswarren We use etrade
  18. @danielpunkass It's nothing personal, I like you and your software. I am always surprised when people praise Obama in spite of the facts.
  19. @danielpunkass How do you define "world" ? Surely sending more troops to the middle east hasn't improved their attitude towards the US.
  20. I challenge anyone to find anything that Obama has actually _done_ in the interest of World Peace.
