  8. ahh, returning {ok, State, Timeout} from init/1 allows mimicking the receive->after timeout behavior from message passing in gen_server

  10. My writing process has changed a lot over the last few years. Used to "just write". Now outline -> code -> fill in outline.

  18. Erlang Question: Is there any way to replicate the receive-after block using a gen_server?
