  3. @akhilak Spanish and French aren't thaaaat different. The time spent learning Spanish could help accelerate the French. One step at a time..
  4. @akhilak My Spanish is still better than my Chinese, but China has been very good to me and will likely be my home through 2010 :)
  5. @akhilak I learned Spanish when small thanks to my wonderful Nana Petra, studied in Chile, worked in Costa Rica for a summer... then China:)
  6. @akhilak And within a week I had FedEx'd my passport in to the visa authorities. Spent the summer as an ESL volunteer with Chinese tapes...

  8. @akhilak Oh it was random. A week after I graduated with a degree in Latin American Studies I decided to move to China. Saw the opportunity
  9. Chatted with Diane the Dumpster Diving Digger (yes, her real nickname) after I complimented her Santa sweater :)

  11. Lovely visit last night from Mo, good HS friend: married 7 years, runs successful limo company with consultant clients, back in school :)
  12. First impressions of home after over a year away: jetlag, deja vu, and food that's served in big portions for one person, without much oil
  13. YAY! Just arrived at home in spacious, warm California. Baby-filled and semi-turbulent but quick flight. On Facebook for 1st time in 6 mo.

  19. @akhilak and I totally disagree with this post, just like you. It made me grimace. A lot.
  20. @akhilak Her writing entertains me (esp. the pieces on religion). I agree with some advice but have personally taken a very different path.
