  1. Survived the first of a series of festive 2yr old birthday parties. Makes a Christmas party look like a piece of cake.
  2. Have seen the more learner drivers in our little private road than ever before. we mush have particularly special road conditions atm
  3. ah, fabulous. The recycling truck & associated noise arrive 3 days late, but just as I've gotten the boy to sleep. They *always* wake him up
  4. @livlab yeah, my white leather ottoman now has some toast colour scorch marks on it :( Still, at least the house didn't burn down!
  5. @solle one could argue that you should be able to google them & find everything you need to qualify them (or not) or an interview.
  6. @cpetzny @solle yes, see, that's why I find a blog so useful-so you can get a feel for whether or not the applicant has a clue/any passion.
  7. @cpetzny @solle it goes back to the fit between recruiter/ee. If you're *looking* to do a detailed wireframe phase, then recruit for it.
  8. @cpetzny @solle that assumes wireframes are a key deliverable. What if you're working collaboratively, fast sketching, straight into code?
  9. @cpetzny @solle is not about portfolio sensitivity IMHO, is context. What is a deliverable in isolation? Exception = recruiting entry level.
  10. @solle is definitely true that attitude to the recruit process tells a lot about *both* the recruiter/ee, is often a reason I opt out.
  11. @solle that could easily be me. I don't send 'samples' of my work in advance, happy to share as as we speak or after a chat though.
  12. wow. closest I've knowingly come to a housefire. Husband's laptop somehow overheated & literally started melting down. yikes.
  13. Help pls! where can one buy bean bag beans, preferably in SE London? (need to fill a child sized bean bag) I'm drawing a complete blank.
  14. paying £50+ VAT and handling charges for the pleasure of receiving Christmas presents from Australia. What a sting.
  15. If you know what's good for you, you will not be in Sainsbury's today. With a toddler. I must be insane.
  16. @j4ngis yeah, good point. His taste isn't all bad ;)
  17. @emmaboulton no choice in our house. She is on almost nonstop rotation thanks to iplayer. Who thought TV on demand was a good idea?
  18. @ragtag yeah, thought I should tone it down in case she's on Twitter ;)
  19. My son & I already have dramatically different taste in women. He has major crush on Katie from I Can Cook. I think she's v annoying. Sigh.
  20. I'm really going to have to up my game once the boy has a decent memory & a clear grasp on the Christmas concept. Like, next year.
