  3. Palo OK'd new concession stand to replace one that flooded. Eventually they'll add another ball park and parking lot to existing ballpark.
  4. Golf cart drag racing? Apparently it's occurred in Palo. Council may decide to regulate golf carts.
  5. Palo approved purchase of fire rescue boat - 18' 115HP motor - runs in 3"-4" water. It can carry stretchers for med evacuation - 8 ft wide.
  6. Going to Palo city council meeting TONIGHT @ 6:30pm. Continuing w/goal to visit each of 17 city councils at least once before end of year.
  7. Board mtg: Adam Belz of The Gazette just left the mtg. I'm sure he gleaned a couple of stories from the earlier proceedings. Stay tuned.
  8. Attending last half of Board of Supervisors mtg. Waiting for update on county buildings + Disaster Recovery Committee.
  9. Mount Vernon Fire Department serves a great ribeye dinner for $7.oo. Hard to beat on a Saturday night.
  10. In Mount Vernon at Heritage Days. Appears to be a great turnout based upon time it took to find parking.
  11. Touring the Linn County Fair with my wife. Perfect weather.

  16. @NicDP Your vision statement might be a better fit for the County as a whole than for the Auditor's Office only. I do like it.
  17. @jenneumann I agree not everyone wants to be engaged, but ideally everyone should be engaged which is what we're trying to accomplish.
  18. Working on a Vision Statement for the Office of Auditor: "Every person engaged in local government." What do you think?
