  1. Just discovered that the rear swaybar on my car is literally broken. That is clearly the source of the clanking sound...
  2. @NickHodges It was "synergy" several years ago... "convergence" was another overused mktg word.
  3. @NickHodges Check the checkbox, select more actions and mark as unread
  4. Bri had a follow-up visit with the doc today. No pain, and will start tapering off the post hospital meds. She's getting back to normal.
  5. @NickHodges You, of course, know my opinion on that. XP->Vista->7... Or just slick it and install 7 fresh.
  6. Now that Bri is doing better, I'm finally able to take wife out to a movie to get her mind off the hospital and Brianna... going to see HP.
  7. Drain is now out. Abscess has collapsed. The fistula is likely closed since the contrast didn't move out of the area of the abscess.
  8. Nothing like waking up and finding out that one of the dogs decided to dig out of the yard to play with a neighbor's dog...
  9. For once... Radiology is waiting on us! Payback!
  10. Bri is drinking that nasty contrast liquid... Should be heading down to the CT room soon.
  11. Bri will be getting another CT scan tonight to ensure that the abscess has gotten smaller, and hopefully has closed off.
  12. Ok, so Bri is in good spirits and the drain isn't quite getting the amount the docs' all want. May need to reposition it.
  13. Just got back home from hospital. Bri's doing well. Drain is working and the pain is way, way less. No "add shots" from the PCA today.
  14. hospital emergency rooms are noisy, bright, and crazy places.
  15. Using a VPN from a 10.x.x.x local network to a remote 10.x.x.x network really doesn't work very well. DNS and routing clashes galore.
  16. I hate it when the "free WiFi" has so many port restrictions that I cannot even connect to legitimate services.
  17. It's fun to watch the nefarious underground and dark corners of the internet squirm when a thin beam of light hits them...
  18. @JimMcKeeth I still do not like the idea of my system hanging "bare @ssed" on *any* network.
  19. @JimMcKeeth That's fine for a desktop system, but what about all the notebooks that wind up at the local SBux? Recipe for disaster..
  20. So why would an IT deparment tasked with securing the network set a group policy to disable everyone's firewall?
