  1. @msgroner I have a Magic Mouse as a art object, and Microsoft Mouse with 2 buttons + wheel for ease of use, muscle memory, much lighter.
  2. @williamsjoe MBP15 is right on the edge: just small enough to carry, just big enough to be pleased when you arrive.
  3. big improvements in Linux font in the last couple of years - Ubuntu default font rendering went from rather rough, to fantastic.
  4. Old PC repave for kids: I had forgotten the pain of a fresh Vista install. Life is too short, wipe disk, give Win7 a shot.
  5. Shiny new things are irresistible. #ChromeOS download in progress.
  6. nice Steve Jobs keynote from 2001: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
  7. @aaronhinni The most important model is the one in your head, not the one on the screen.
  8. @aaronhinni I use two big screens also; but with clever IDE design, is good dev is possible on a handheld? ...
  9. Handheld as a dev machine? http://ycombinator.com/rfs5... More feasible that it first sounds, we'll need a different flavor of IDE.
  10. Is Google Voice still invite-only? I have an unused invite (I already use a competing service), if anyone wants it please reply @kylecordes
  11. @puredanger I like your Marshmellow slides, is that a talk you already gave somewhere? http://bit.ly/4rkI16
  12. @puredanger the IMG src is reliable, but sadly the slide shown is inaccurate by 5-10 years
  13. @puredanger broken image on this page (for me at least): http://puredanger.com/tech/...
  14. I mostly love working on real world business software. Except for this aspect of it: http://xkcd.com/664/
  15. Net abuzz about Java closure #devoxx, and Dalvik JIT. Dalvik is walking up the disruptive technology slope.
  16. I cannot fathom why #mozy churns away "preparing" files to disk in a tempdir, rather than compress/encrypt on the way out the door in RAM.
  17. @bluebirdapp Bluebird is nice so far, as a lightweight (non RAM CPU draining) casual Twitter client.
  18. @ablemike The payoff for one-step deploy is enormous. Keep going until you get all the way there.
  19. I wish iWork Pages had the "view|Normal" feature of Word. (I have Word and OO, trying iWork for the mac experience)
  20. @JavaSTL I'm going to miss the ITEN event today, but I recommend it for anyone interested in IT startups in the St. Louis area.
