  1. @eglantinescake Then again, maybe Ruby lays all her long-term pain at the door of the never-received toy. Who knows? Parenting is hard.
  2. @eglantinescake Ruby wanted a cabbage patch doll. Same dilemma and CPD's were scary too. Don't think denying her caused long term damage.
  3. Are kids' items becoming more gendered or am I imagining it? Finding gender neutral clothes for baby Louis requires so much searching!
  4. @eglantinescake Did you see the girl's version? Love that it includes 'Understanding Maps'. Duh.
  5. Have a great day, Wendy. Hope the heat doesn't detract from plenty of birthday fun.
  6. Off to Ballarat for sessions with Year 7 & 8 students. Will be lovely to see a crowd after all these weeks of being chained to the desk.
  7. @postteen Was full of glee for 24 hours. Now it's time to clean up the office. But still feeling satisfied - until it comes back.
  8. @annaryanpunch Thanks, Anna. Love the 'go team' spirit.
  9. Done and dusted. 74,000 words winging through cyberspace to my editor. There'll be another draft but everything feels possible for now.
  10. Closer and closer. The end is within sight. A long difficult night ahead but determined to let the book fly before it's over.
  11. More coffee, more coffee, more coffee.
  12. Last day before the ms hits the editors desk. Too many things to tweak before its perfect. Need marathon energy to get through the day.
  13. @misrule_au And thankyou very much for that. I feel enabled, empowered and, at last, relaxed!
  14. @misrule_au Hmmm... think I'll follow your very good example re the red wine, Judith. Thanks for the inspiration.
  15. How can the end keep receding into the distance? The faster I write, the further away it looks.
  16. Main characters, Tilly Sweetrick and Poesy Swift, won't stop arguing and they're wearing me out.
  17. Some days, writing is simply too hard.
  18. @twitofalili Oh, and I used to love 'The Game of Life' until we lost all the teeny-tiny people.
  19. @twitofalili Snakes and Ladders. Such a good metaphor for life.
  20. Can handle the hot night as long as there are no more nightmares about scary puppets scratching at the front door.
