  1. @sbtourist CRUD is probably 90% of enterprise/web data store usage. Hit that first, and diversity opens up through increased adoption.
  2. RT @monadic: open ftw - rabbitmq and kaazing and terracotta for european scale real time betting at unibet - by @stnor - read this: http ...
  3. @njbartlett Of course. A layer of abstraction can be added to anything. But I think it would be best if it was driven by the projects.
  4. @sbtourist That's why I picked on the ones I did. Many are starting to converge on a basic document model, APIs can thus follow.
  5. @monkchips If only they had standard APIs (the source of the most recent blog post: http://bit.ly/5vTHaF ).
  6. [blog] In which I beg the Document Store developers to agree on a standard code-level API: http://bit.ly/5vTHaF
  7. @monkchips There are so many out there; we've tried to keep the code as neutral as we can for now so that we can try different ones.
  8. @sbtourist But waiting until we've got another pair of eyes on the code internally before doing the full writeup. Don't want to be hasty!
  9. @sbtourist Long story short is that looks like you can store quickly enough, but not query quickly enough. Getting 2.6sec/TS load.
  10. Working on a blog writeup. Been playing with MongoDB for storing financial Timeseries data, to see if it's a good fit. We don't think it is.
  11. RT @ZUrlocker: EU hearing will include MySQL customers as well as Marten Mickos, Eben Moglen. Very compelling. http://tinyurl.com/ft-orcl
  12. Finally managed today to get my brain working after 2 days of sickness and jet lag. Can't wait for tomorrow to be fully back in the groove!
  13. 1 off 50% bank bonuses above GBP25k may be bad for bankers, but good for fintech startup execs trying to hire away banking IT staff!
  14. RT @LDN: Postcodes to be freed in 2010 http://bit.ly/7FdcBK
  15. Grooving on Google Chrome for Linux. Makes my Linux workstation feel much better for day-to-day work than Firefox.
  16. Just discovered the Spread Toolkit. Looks at first glance like Open Source Tibco Rendezvous; n'est pas?
  17. @tablewhite Yep. Cold appeared on Sunday morning pre-flight. So I've brought a whole new strain back with me! Patient Zero I am.
  18. Rather upset that my body appears to have let me down. Productivity punctuated by coughing/sneezing fits. Hadn't been sick in years.
  19. Returned from San Francisco to grey, gloomy, congested, dirty old London town. Happy to be home! Just wish I didn't bring the lurgy w/me!
  20. Realized that I need to drastically cut back on the flow of information I feel the need to track.
