  1. @kendall #linkeddata is just "raw data" at best. As I've said, its like spaghetti; so without sauce (#w3c_owl) and spices (rules) no meal:-)
  2. @markmoby "Linked Data meme" and "shared semantics" aren't mutually exclusive. Use of shared schemas increases vitality of #linkeddata :-)
  3. @aarontay #linkeddata meme is about the implicit binding of a resource to its description (metadata) via a #HTTP #URI. REST is basic #Web.
  4. @aarontay re. Resource Description & Access (#RDA), we already have Resource Description Framework + HTTP aka. "Linked Data" (#linkeddata).
  5. @cgerrish I am saying "semantic web" (aka semantic web project) is a classic misnomer: http://dbpedia.org/resource... :-)
  6. Ultimately one of the most ironic #URIs re. #linkeddata and #semanticweb: http://dbpedia.org/resource... :-)
  7. @cgerrish thanks to #RDFa (for HTML < 5) and #MicroData (for HTML >= 5) you will start to see the #semanticweb misnomer with clarity.
  8. @cgerrish The phrase "Semantic Web" is/was/will-always-be a misnomer. It's just about "Linked Data" via markup that carries data semantics.
  9. Here is #loc #goodrelations based #linkeddata re. Blackberry gleaned from <http://shopper.cnet.com>: http://tr.im/qM3F
  10. #URIburner (#virt_sponger instance) now generating #loc #goodrelations #linkeddata from <http://shopper.cnet.com>: http://tr.im/qLWK
  11. @airbnb do you not have an API into our data space? Also do you cover larger properties for traveling execs with family in tow?
  12. Isn't there a social netwrkng endowed service out there that links traveling executives directly with short-term rental property landlords?
  13. @kendall Methinks #w3c_owl is key to #URI level differentiation i.e., delivery of #linkeddata meshes with varying degrees of dexterity :-)
  14. @aarontay why not just ask your Linked Data (#linkeddata) question?
  15. Qotd: "The future is full of wonderful things that are yet to reach us from Lisp and Smalltalk research of the past." -- http://bit.ly/wghM2
  16. @CharlesPal the #nosql folks should really focus on adding #HTTP #URI's (IDs) to their stores which makes them #linkeddata friendly :-)
  17. ...I am personally against NoSQL but check out the following for both sides of the NoSQL argument http://bit.ly/wghM2 (via @CharlesPal)
  18. @andymurd dist. transactions are also covered by enterprise grade #rdbms engines. Their real problem lies in "closed world" view of data.
  19. @andymurd btw parallelization of #sql is something most modern enterprise grade #rdbms engines have mastered for a long time :-) #nosql
  20. re. #nosql @andymurd , maybe it should be #hybrid or #nosql_only :-) OpenLink Virtuoso (#opl_virtuoso) is #hybrid: http://tr.im/qHd6 . #dbms
