  1. @tnyfrontrow I dunno; I feel like the restless camera movements throughout "Summer Hours" screams Assayas; they didn't feel generic at all.
  2. @flmfrkcentral WeIl...I like "Summer Hours," but at least you're not like @ArmondWhite w/ "The Hurt Locker" and saying it's "now overrated."
  3. Me too, Roger. Me too. RT @ebertchicago: To people who say "Just enjoy! Don't analyze!" This speaks eloquently for me: http://j.mp/4XAkBR
  4. @yumyumicecream Yeah. Climactic battle sequence was mostly just noisy; I felt same sense of detachment while watching "Matrix Revolutions."
  5. @davis_seth I'm not really referring to that, but thanks anyway. I'm referring to things that have deeper, longer-running roots.
  6. What do you think? Is a positive attitude toward certain non-ideal situations as easy to turn on as a light switch, as my mother suggests?
  7. @mtdukes Haha I may be slowly but surely adopting a New York state of mind!
  8. @KarenAlloy Good. Not great, but good.
  9. Considering the Eurostar rail-service disaster, I guess I shouldn't complain about NJ Transit's epic mass-transit fails, right?
  10. @yumyumicecream I mostly enjoyed "Avatar," but I don't disagree with those statements. Maybe the elemental story was a conscious decision.
  11. Looks like I will be coming in on New Year's Day for my first-ever Friday shift on the news desk. Yay for holiday pay!
  12. B/c I'm hardly the only one who got his car towed by New Brunswick on Saturday, guess my $30 parking ticket should go down easier, right?
  13. @tromano Haha perhaps, but I was about to say, you certain that's the Sudafed doing it?
  14. I'm not looking forward to turning in this Corneliu Porumboiu/"Police, Adjective" interview that's been on the shelf for a while.
  15. @simonsaybrams Sorry, must have missed all this (I'm at work, after all), but I still don't understand. What's contrived about the scenario?
  16. @simonsaybrams @inro @Filmbrain Yeah, I'm not sure I understand what you see as emotionally dishonest about "Summer Hours."
  17. @msicism I second @simonsaybrams on Herzog's "Bad Lieutenant" revamp.
  18. @Filmbrain You're not saying that the issues of rich and successful people are inherently dull and unworthy of cinematic analysis, are you?
  19. Oh yeah, I forgot: I explain that FML tweet Saturday night at my blog: http://bit.ly/7kPDT4
  20. Interesting... RT @cobblehillis: 1978's LES RENDEZ-VOUS D'ANNA is the thinking person's UP IN THE AIR. #akermania
