  1. Didn't buy New World Monkeys on the frontlist, but ordered it for the store. Great author photo. Is that really her? or an author double.
  2. I picked up New World Monkeys by Nancy Mauro last night. Great opening. Really enjoying it. Shows what a nice letter + hb comp can do.
  3. @readandbreathe I quit on Winterson a few books ago. Written on the Body and Sexing Cherry I also liked. Lost stamina after a while.
  4. Read More of the This World or Maybe Another by Barb Johnson. Amazing, but harsh stories set in New Orleans. Tough read if you have a baby.
  5. @readandbreathe The Passion has always been my favorite Winterson book. Also like Oranges are not the only Fruit.
  6. @CarinBerger Congrats on the NYT review. I've been thinking about The Little Yellow Leaf as we get further into autumn.
  7. @lanora Thanks for the offer. Maybe we can work something out next year. I'd love to see the store.
  8. I'm exhausted from buying books at #Cirobe. Lots of decent stuff but very little great stuff. Seems like American is top place these days.
  9. Best bks I found at #Cirobe so far were the 2008 Best American titles. They'll move fast at half price. Especially Nonrequired Reading.
  10. Just finished Katharine Weber's True Confections. Hilarious, fantastic, wonderful novel. You'll never think the same way about a candy bar.
  11. What does someone new to the business think about bks and publishing. Read the interview on Kash's Book Corner http://bit.ly/1awwrn
  12. Denver's channel 9 interviewed me about buying bks from Amazon/Wal Mart to take advantage of the price wars. http://bit.ly/2UfM0t
  13. Price war interview: http://bit.ly/2UfM0t
  14. @readandbreathe Used bks and remainders extend the life of titles considerably. Bks die on the backlist but live on in other ways.
  15. Is experience really necessary to buy books at an independent bookstore? Kash's Book Corner. http://bit.ly/1awwrn
  16. Interview with youngest bk buyer in history. Kash's Book Corner. http://bit.ly/1awwrn
  17. The WSJ article came about because of some random tweeting I did last week. Landed the bookstore a great photo in the paper.
  18. Quoted in today's Wall Street Journal. http://online.wsj.com/artic...
  19. @bobfinn co-morbidities is my new favorite word. Thanks.
  20. I'm reading Kate Weber's True Confections. Great comic read & fun insight into candy bus. Did Hart Crane's dad really invent lifesavers?
