  1. Toasted English muffin for dessert, one half with strawberry jam, other half with Nutella.
  2. @glutenfreegirl And you are mine! That lunch scene on the roof? I haven't seen this movie in forever, and I just love it.
  3. Short ribs, onions, and carrots braised in red wine, mashed potatoes, and Desk Set.
  4. @Anticiplate Be patient when baking them on the griddle. Can just walk away and leave them. Use two offset spatulas to flip, and be gentle.
  5. @Anticiplate Make the dough and form the muffins the night before, or even tomorrow night. They're better toasted, anyway.
  6. @kitchenMage Aren't marshmallows basically meringue (egg whites) beaten with sugar, stabilized with gelatin? Yes, burnt sugar, if toasted.
  7. @kitchenMage They taste like...er, powdered sugar. Marshmallows are more about texture than taste, like meringues.
  8. @Anticiplate Yup. I made the dough Saturday night, and have been griddling/baking them in batches of 6-8 each night.
  9. @jkwseattle @cooklocal It makes a little *crunch.*
  10. @jkwseattle I don't like the sound the needles make as they go into my skin.
  11. Final round of English muffins done. Phew.
  12. @cooklocal I think Alton Brown has a theater/drama background. It can get a bit much sometimes.
  13. @jkwseattle Ouch! Acupuncture makes me nervous. Have you checked out Lavender Heart, down the street? Soaps & candles & dried flower things.
  14. @jkwseattle Mmmm....I love their crêpes and mochas.
  15. @foldthecheese @hsiaoching Do you ever do celery with those cuttlefish balls (sliced in half)? I like it that way, too.
  16. @DJPegLeg As a young kitchen slave in my mother's kitchen, I was frequently reprimanded for slicing the tofu unevenly.
  17. @hsiaoching I love sliced dried bean curd stir-fried with celery. My mom used to make that all the time.
  18. @jaydeflix No, rubber cement is removable. You just peel off and rub away any residue. Don't think the credit-card stuff is the same, tho.
  19. @hsiaoching Yum! I love wintermelon soup.
  20. @jkwseattle Eeek! SO cute.
