  1. thinking about buying myself a tekpub subscription for christmas , kick start my learning resolutions
  2. @stevenharman we have one of those in Naples, FL. Good and cheap.
  3. @simongui could have been worse if the giants had run it back
  4. going to dabble with coredata today
  5. @tekpub i love the price for the linux for softies series hah
  6. @badeen i still would love having my code ripped apart, c# or obj-c, i just hope my ego can handle it
  7. @badeen and the only way i am going to get comfy with obj-c is by getting hands dirty, which is what i am doing
  8. @badeen either way, my work paid for the license and it is just another tool in my belt. what matters is what i give them in the end.
  9. @badeen yeah, probably more a reaction to past comments from people with your exp, i have heard using monotouch makes me a bad prog hah
  10. @badeen so i have had no problem following obj-c samples for guidance and just then writing it in c#
  11. @badeen i was meaning the mappings of the API from monotouch to cocoatouch, i.e. the uitableviewdelegate structure is almost verbatim
  12. @badeen but it is definitely in my future, performance gains are what i have my eye on the most right now
  13. @badeen i have no doubts i will, i am already much more comfortable in it with the limited practice i have had.
  14. @badeen or maybe i am just over sensitive to the ramblings i have heard from some people in the obj-c community
  15. @badeen but thanks for a jab, as a guy who has learned many languages i love the assumption my opinion is based on laziness
  16. @badeen and i dont know if i ever will be, perhaps it is the obj-c people that could learn some new stuff as docs will come
  17. @badeen but i agree, have enjoyed the cs193p and coding in obj-c, just not sure i am at the point it is "easier" than monotouch
  18. @badeen it is easy to just write it in monotouch and it follows the same patterns and very close in verbiage
  19. @badeen i have found the cocoatouch bindings trivial to get in monotouch and looking at obj-c code related to cocoatouch....
  20. @badeen but i welcome details, more mobile dev is in my future and i am still very green.
