  1. is getting quite hot in his office
  2. is wondering why the standard openvpn bridge-start script doesn't add back the default route.
  3. Heard bout micropmnts on stewart. Pppl don't pay for print writing, they pay for dist. Why should inet be diff (where dist cost near 0)?
  4. Interesting... rumours that Goog is not dealing with hard times well. This could be their first major test...
  5. Compiling (VS2005 is astoundingly slow/weak)
  6. @rodrakic Yes, had my share of fri 13thisms today as well (server toast, yay)
  7. @HighTechDad Indeed, I have one of the intro offers. I think we are going to evaluate them closely.
  8. jealous of @rodrakic's new mac... sigh.
  9. http://www.gogrid.com seems like a good elastic computing alt. The pricing is reasonable, and their free trial should make it testable.
  10. Hmm, I wonder... is there an ec2 alternative for windows hosting?
  11. The Opera 9.5 rc is shaping up to be a nice browser. The just introduced theme makes it feel like a funeral, though. Off to dl marina.
  12. @RobertGonzalez I personally don't see a problem with social sites. My wife wouldn't like it much if I hid activity/pws from her, though.
  13. @crazybob - Indeed, layers were a path to DHTML, they were just the wrong path. MS introduced xmlhttp/dom manipulation that almost worked.
  14. Learn windows powershell: http://refcardz.dzone.com/
  15. @dzone The powershell one in particular was the best thing that I've seen for learning powershell. But it also had numerous obvious errors.
  16. @dzone The refcardz are great, but I for one wish there was a little more editing.
  17. @sharemefg Good luck finding a startup... they can certianly be fun to work for (albeit perhaps a bit too exciting at some times) :)
  18. With resharper installed, VS2005 almost feels usable. It feels like a modern Java IDE instead of a bad leftover from 6 years ago.
  19. accidently hit f1 in visual studio. Is opening help really the most difficult thing for a computer to do in the 21st century?
  20. JBoss and Sun Java's Permgen space issues have me pining for the JRockits
