  1. Rap lyric of the year: "Pew! Pew! Pew!" —Kanye, blasting off like a lay-zer
  2. Follow-up to previous observation, neither can they properly fix a broken window. Gehry would be ashamed. http://twitpic.com/p9z8s
  3. Album of the Moment: J. Cole - The Warm Up http://post.ly/CTfm
  4. Is it a bad sign when your employer literally can't manage to keep the lights on in your $300m office building?
  5. Joe Hewitt is an App Store conscientious objector http://post.ly/CQ9F
  6. @sdt_intel yeah, that was a rhetorical question ;) (WDK uses a custom msbuild chain with cl ~= VC9 as the compiler. But not similar enough.)
  7. @sdt_intel and what about for the Microsoft WDK toolchain? Seriously, if all I want is map[key], is it too much to ask for portability?
  8. I still cannot fucking believe (std|ext|…)::hash_map isn't standard and well-supported across platforms. This is 2009, not 1956.
  9. @minrk Cf. also synergy-plus: http://code.google.com/p/sy...
  10. @ooc_lang also has the potential benefit that changing a member to a read-only property of the same name doesn't change client code.
  11. @ooc_lang have you considered making nil argument parens optional, a la Ruby? Makes method vs. member access ambiguous, but less cluttered.
  12. Well put by @antirez: The grammar of Go appears to be designed to be: "a simple, always fully specified grammar" vs "a great syntax to code"
  13. Go needs a REPL.
  14. @herf the key is that you can only use it for Gmail and Picasa, which are 1. hard to fill (oversold) and 2. append-only, and cold.
  15. "There is no need to list a package's dependencies on the command line. The linker learns about them by reading the object file." MODERNITY!
  16. …and I forgot to follow up to my ooc post because I'm busy watching Rob Pike, but it's a good day for systems languages: http://golang.org
  17. I am very close to wetting myself with glee over http://ooc-lang.org
  18. @defunkt did you ever release the Bacondrop source? I'm interested to see it as a MacRuby reference.
  19. Song of the Moment: Rock Co.Kane Flow (Cenzi Remix) http://post.ly/CGPv
  20. @repi but at least I know you'll be there to offer a good perspective to the DX guys… ;)
