  8. PSA: if you're planning to spend any time off the grid, a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) and Search & Rescue coverage is cheap insurance.
  9. Evening hike up Grey Rock trail. Now, dinner and finishing up the last of the moving boxes - finally time to put books on shelves. :-)

  15. After installing Google Gears (for offline Gmail processing) and using Tweetie for Twitter updates, dial-up really isn't so bad after all.

  19. Latest in the dial-up experiment: offline apps. Downloading Google Gears, Tweetie, Mailplane, Opera, Packrat, and Lynx.
