  1. Strange to be in central Maine yet unaffected by the snow storm that's affecting most of the East coast. Enjoy your snow days!
  2. Great idea to help ppl "get it": RT @RussGoerend: When I share links with colleagues who aren't on Twitter, I ... link to the Tweet itself.
  3. @bengrey Great post, really enjoy reading about ontogeny of thought and how it relates to "ownership". It's the angle I take w/ plagiarism.
  4. @vtdeacon It has good form & summ rubrics, want to add subject-area specific recs and expand on citation beyond MLA (APA & Chicago).
  5. @vtdeacon We have a writing handbook that was developed a number of years ago that we're going to revise & update first...
  6. First Writing Project team meeting today, off to a great start. All subject areas on board to improve student writing skills.
  7. @irasocol Very interesting! How are you accessing that literature?
  8. Our dorm students start their travels tomorrow...hard to imagine being so far away, but it must feel great to be home when they arrive.
  9. @irasocol Where did you learn that? Sounds like it came from something on the history of grading, which I'd be very interested in reading.
  10. Evaluating different platforms to support a learning community for the districts in our tech center's region. Thinking Ning - other ideas?
  11. @deviger Thanks for the #FF rec.
  12. Google Zeitgeist 2009 - Twitter was the fastest-rising US search term - http://bit.ly/4t5xLn
  13. @deviger I also see being invited and asked for feedback as a sign that trust & sense of value of observation is developing.
  14. @deviger Agreed-shorter, more frequent "samples" seem to be most likely to produce the most accurate picture of the classroom.
  15. Good: positive reception to idea of drop-in classroom observations this year. Great: invited to observe specific lesson today!
  16. @wcarozza Sounds great, hope you have fun leading the session! I'll check out the resources on the wiki.
  17. @afcMaine Thanks! The audio quality wasn't great (used the built-in mic) but the important part was the increased student engagement.
  18. Recorded student podcasts on stem cells today. Love to see rise in their engagement & care for quality w/ "public" demo of knowledge.
  19. @wcarozza Are you leading the workshop or attending? Curious to know what specific topics you'll be teaching/learning about...
  20. Response to Intervention (RTI) and Learning Disabilities...EdWeek hosts live chat tomorrow at 4pm EST http://bit.ly/578r6Q
