  1. Damn! M&S is going to be closed. I'm just going to *have* to get a takeaway.
  2. @romneymarsh If I remember correctly, they were almost as good as the 90s...
  3. @barrymcgee It's very good.
  4. My iPhone was on fire today. The genius playlist it made from Teenage Fanclub - Sparky's Dream: http://www.last.fm/user/jtw...
  5. Boy am I glad I didn't buy a Canon 7D at £1699. It's down to £1249 already. I suspect I would no longer be able to justify my 5D MkII :)
  6. @JemStone That's the one. We got there in the end, five or so years later...
  7. @samuelbailey PIPs itself is centrally managed now, but it did in fact start in radio. /programmes is separate and is still an A&M product.
  8. @phae Best picture ever.
  9. @samuelbailey It is a tough one. For vast swathes of content it's not an issue, but there are some pain points - especially in radio.
  10. @samuelbailey What about if someone gets married and changes their name?
  11. @samuelbailey I wish I was, but I'm afraid it's the usual suspects on the 7th floor of HWH.
  12. @samuelbailey But then you'll want to change them :) Permanence is important for humans too.
  13. @cenadi I know, it's kind of upsetting. Never to be bettered (or even matched) again :(
  14. @samuelbailey But I do quite like your idea of permanent, human readable short codes for certain programmes. Kind of "PIDs but not PIDs".
  15. @samuelbailey Permanent IDs with no obvious connection to what they identify. If we used programme names, URLs would change and that's bad.
  16. @samuelbailey Do try http://www.bbc.co.uk/progra... and see what happens. You might be surprised :)
  17. @samuelbailey There is a master DB of them all (PIPs - http://bit.ly/7bW7bz). The reason they're opaque IDs is that programme names change.
  18. Reminiscing for August 1995. Just look. Sigh. http://yfrog.com/3ng1zp
  19. @carlosroman You do know you could just not fill it in :)
  20. @carlosroman What are you doing for your birthday you old git?
