  1. We wish Congress would take a fresh look & come back with meaningful step by step reform that is just that reform not revolution
  2. We have offered a step by step approach which would guarantee access, mandate personal responsibility, preserve a market system
  3. In the end real health reform remains unavailable and elusive.
  4. 8th we learned that Democratic majority & many in both parties do not wish to take on health insurers but hide behind 2000 pages of legalese
  5. DNC objective: is ultimately to create a vast welfare state
  6. Dems seeks to bring middle class further under government control, enhance “wealth redistribution” & further the objectives of DNC
  7. 7th we learned what many knew or suspected: health reform being offered by Dems has to do with creating an unending open ended entitlement
  8. Sounds like the socialist wing of the party (or is that just the party) is ready to enforce common sense principles with gulag like tactics
  9. We favor the individual mandate, but not with jail time attached.
  10. 6th we learned failure to comply with individual mandate could mean jail time.
  11. 5th we learned Madam Pelosi says she read the bill, however her version of “read” is it was passed to 3 committees of staffers to review
  12. 4th we learned that our Speaker of the House is overly pleased with herself even though the bill she presided over is DOA in the Senate
  13. They will as the body politik (Democratic that is) has an agenda far more important to them than simply getting some folks health insurance
  14. 3rd we learned the left will have to swallow hard if they want some version of health reform to make it to the President’s desk
  15. 2nd we learned that 1 Republican can be persuaded to vote with majority even if motives appear political despite comments to the contrary
  16. 1st we learned that partisan discipline can get your ducks in a row & win a vote, regardless of damage done to some of your own members
  17. As the Senate prepares to vote on its version of health reform this week we can reflect on what the House accomplished last week.
