  1. Mildly disturbed to find out I've gone out to a gig completely on my own. Novel.
  2. @rapella So sad to hear of Dell Hymes passing, thanks for mentioning. (I loved his "Ethnography, Linguistics, Narrative Inequality" book.)
  3. @aleksk Many congratulations! (I'll admit to some jealousy though, as I still have quite a way to go)
  4. @iphigenie Eek, we can't have that. Thankfully I think the high numbers of hungry students in the area should keep the danger in check. ;)
  5. @willmcinnes, @philspray The agreed planning permission is viewable on the council site ( http://icanhaz.com/planning... ).
  6. @vickyjo Yup. It's next door to a Co-op, opposite a Spar, 3 min from Sainsbury's and small M&S food. Just hoping someone has got this wrong!
  7. @anna_debenham I quite agree, massive loss. The garden was never going to be permanent but there's no need for yet another supermarket!
  8. @willmcinnes Probably too late as planning permission has already been granted, but there's a group forming tonight to find a way to stop it
  9. Sickened at the loss of the #Brighton Lewes Road community garden so yet another Tesco store can open.
  10. @badgermind Thanks for the well wishes. I hope so too!
  11. Back muscle fail preventing me from attending innovation games event at #xtc tonight (http://icanhaz.com/hohgames). Both irksome and ouchy.
  12. In Lewes, relaxing in expectation of a good bonfire night, watching as the windows are boarded up.
  13. The thing I love about burlesque nights is how they celebrate women of all shapes, sizes and ages.
  14. The asbestos removal truck has set up shop outside the building. While novel, it lacks something of the excitement of an ice-cream van...
  15. Fighting an urge to put up 'Out of disorder' signs in my building at the University, but that would be misleading...
  16. @mhsutton Not sure I'm afraid, nothing mentioned to me, have now headed off towards Walsall for the evening.
  17. @mhsutton I'm visiting Birmingham Friends of the Earth. Seven charities collaborate to provide the lockup service at the festival.
  18. @mhsutton Interesting challenge that. Perhaps. Shall think on it when I've escaped from Digbeth. :)
  19. @mhsutton Ooh, that could be great fun. :)
  20. @GlastoWatch That would be wonderful! I'll get someone on it. Thanks.
