  2. In SF at Business of Software conf Geoffrey Moore lays says don't play catchup. Heidi Roizen says don't trust VCs. My turn soon.
  3. food, more food. One eats really well in Korea. Decided to skip lunch, but my neighbor took us to a great place. Now, off to Seoul
  4. 2nd class in Korea: It's working! One group challenged my statements and after discussion I agreed . I love classes where i learn.
  5. @johnmflach They brought me to KAIST specifically to get them used to Western style teaching and thinking. Especially thinking.
  6. @johnmflach Sounds like you are culturally centric. Research all over the world shows benefits of active participation (not just listenng).

  10. @johnmflach duh. Hey, I've been doing this for 40years! Yup, they were challenged. (I think they rather enjoyed it. My TA agrees)
  11. @markwhiting yeah, but you have to be patient. It takes awhile to break long established customs. Patience -- patience.
  12. First day of teaching in Korea, American style. Challenge me, I say. I don't lecture. Debate. We learn from one another. Very un-Korean
  13. To Korea. 1 week in Seoul, 2 in Daejeon, and then 1 in Seoul. Looking forward to being with friends and eating Pajeon.

  17. Home at last: all traveling over until Sep. 20 when I'm off to Korea. Time to catch up on stuff, my long-held impossible dream.

  19. Dinner here in Madeira was early last night: we actually started eating by 9:30 PM!
  20. cliffs with 300 meter vertical drops. Scary eleveator to take you to beach. Sorry Ben, too busy eating/drinking to take food photos.
