On the ref desk at work today. Have had some good q's and tech issues. Picking possible journals for next article submission.

jmburroughs @dcornwall Thanks for highlighting the guides. This coming week I'll start begging people for new content (& adding my own).
jmburroughs @vdglenn Oof. We just went to a "no gifts without prior approval" policy. Not sure how that will fly w/ retiring profs.
jmburroughs Reading article by M. Waldo from 1977. Fantastic overview of how gov docs were organized historically. Mainstreaming was orig. dominant!
jmburroughs Home again, home again, jiggity jig. Cats seem happy to see me.
jmburroughs Running into everyone I know today. It's really nice. So far. :-)
jmburroughs Have decided I'm simply too tired for receptions tonight. Need to grab a little food & write up mtg summary. And watch DW.
jmburroughs @vdglenn Huh wha? So does the res go to Council, then? Can GODORT specifically not support it?
jmburroughs @vdglenn Exactly. I'm not waiting for that to get going--we're already taking action w/in regional group, for instance.
jmburroughs @vdglenn Maybe twittering will make mtg less painful. The working group would be redundant, I think. GPO already has task force.
jmburroughs Traces of the Trade documentary last night on PBS was phenomenal. Really shifted my way of thinking. http://is.gd/FJf
jmburroughs @dcornwall Very true (@ not going to Congress right now). I'm in agreement. Safe travels to Anaheim.
jmburroughs @dcornwall From teaching students @ leg. hist. I know any change will take time (& possibly several iterations)=good to start talking now.
jmburroughs @dcornwall Absolutely. Start w/ thinking @ what issues exist & what change we need. I don't want to reject Title 44 change altogether, tho.
jmburroughs @dcornwall Glad the convo is going strong on the listservs & hope it continues. Change won't be immediate, but we must start planning now.
jmburroughs Wondering if a 3-hour drive to see a favorite musician is worth it given gas prices.
jmburroughs @joshuamneff I don't know why they don't like it. It's already worked once: http://tinyurl.com/5o2n24
jmburroughs @vdglenn That's a good question. That said, I appreciated FB's perspective of specific obstacles. I could do w/ fewer ALL CAPS tho.
jmburroughs I think today will largely be about ALA prep and some cataloging work (which I hope will include research article prep).
jmburroughs @shines Yes, it's fun to try to handle a reference question on the phone when there is drilling going on right above my head.
