  1. @dweekly Every recession reminds me how badly tort reform is needed. Too bad we can't just be productive for a change.
  2. RT @carterscott: Best. Venn. Diagram. Ever. http://img.ly/Kq
  3. Trying to anchor one's economic future by choosing goals is hard when the units in which success is measured are free-floating in value.
  4. @bduckles I couldn't believe people are upset about it. Hugging! Upset about Hugging! (America can be very very dumb.)
  5. @brianboyer "Parking" brakes instead of hill (hand) brakes on American cars. Why? Mostly flat terrain in populous areas in MI.
  6. @brianboyer Icons on controls instead of english -> global customers, one A/C panel for everyone. Why did it take so damn long GM?
  7. @dakami Where in Europe? Prague is cool - feels to me a bit like Paris but less commercial. Everyone should go to Amsterdam at least once.
  8. GBP/USD just dropped 200 pips in ~1 minute -- I think the prior rise was due to dollar stability panic and grasping for a better currency.
  9. The dollar and the S&P both went up simultaneously yesterday. First time for that in a long time. Genuine uptick in sentiment.
  10. @dweekly Not sure what the best way (or a decent way) is. Why Sri Lanka? (I'm not disagreeing; just curious)
  11. Looks like a return to risk aversion is under way again -- the dollar is going back up a bit. Maybe it is just a correction.
  12. Wow.. Slashdot moderation happens fast and is cool to watch. Real time feedback is one of the reasons I started a BBS years ago.
  13. Google is having a massive outage, it appears...
  14. @dakami That is truly awesome. More info?
  15. @dweekly Order the latte -- they usually aren't lethal.
  16. @dakami Not surprising -- entertainment has always done well during recessions/depressions.
  17. Wow. The Radeon 4850 has almost 10^9 transistors, 800 stream processing units, and does 128 bit FP calcs.
  18. Trying to figure out how to report Forex trades on a tax return. Surprisingly, the IRS has almost no facility for this.
  19. Planning my currency trading strategy for the dollar drop that is almost certainly going to happen.
  20. @dweekly That's arguably true in up markets too -- the right people in the right situation can still be hard to find though.
