  1. Twitter and Facebook are great for certain social spaces. I have to spend some time in a different space and will be inactive here.
  2. finished his slides for iEdge 2009 (Thursday) and CHI 2009 (Sunday evening). CHI history grew by more than a year since 2008.
  3. is still sore from first major gardening of spring on Sunday.
  4. enjoyed lunch at acacia--teriyaki place seating maybe 16 on 40th, a short stroll north, thanks Matt for suggesting it.
  5. spent weekend with El and Is: taxiing to 2 birthday parties, gymnastics, horseback riding, a musical, and reading the fourth Ivy & Bean.
  6. is tweeting while east coast friends can't read. Liked http://snurl.com/eoovi and posted a comment to the former IMF chief economist's blog.
  7. is about to read Atlantic article http://snurl.com/eoovi, alerted by Youngjin Yoo -- I admired Johnson's analysis of economic woes on NPR.
  8. let Wednesday slip past while analyzing video.
  9. was impressed by Cisco telepresence. If people who can afford it don't stick with it I doubt I'll live to see routine video use in meetings.
  10. has been reprioritizing, though priorities sometimes take on a life of their own.
  11. noticed that his last Facebook status update had 141 characters, although the Twitter original had 140. A silent editor.
  12. in 15 years of visits to State College, Internet access gradually spread from a few heavily defended sites to floating like snow, everywhere
  13. is in State College, comparing late season light snow in PA to that in WA.
  14. @jewelia Let me know what you think, and send me anything relevant you're ready to share.
  15. co-authored (w. Meredith Skeels) GROUP 2009 paper on enterprise uses of social networking sites: http://tinyurl.com/chwnhl
  16. got request from National Academy of Sciences committee for cultural differences / int'l market research scholars(hip). Suggestions?
  17. found some aspects of Twitter he wishes he had uncovered a bit earlier. I think I see some easy feature wins for them.
  18. @mamamusings Sorry for delay. We ended up choosing CSCW. I prefer the spirit & odds of WIkiSym and (maybe, untested) ICWSM to the ACMs.
  19. @fstutzman Thanks, it was fun. Still working on understanding the history.
  20. @asbruckman I couldn't budget for both Meredith & myself going so just she will be there.
