  1. Jacob is "napping". Just heard from upstairs: "Ready? YEAH!"
  2. Hadn't known that Thatcher and Mitterrand opposed German reunification. http://tinyurl.com/yft2o49
  3. #opera: Enjoyed the High Lord of Everything Else claiming to be Archbishop of Eastborough and in charge of "the little Kellog/135 matter"
  4. @plagal Quite frankly, just about all other western democracies take better care of their poor wrt health care than we do.
  5. @plagal I fail to see the comparison. We're trying to make private insurance available to sick people, not have gvmt own hospitals like UK.
  6. Just back from The Mikado at Wichita Grand Opera. Great fun! Never seen people clapping and tapping feet to an opera before.
  7. The new adding machine was a hit! Jacob happily printed out numbers in read AND black ink.
  8. @KarenInDelano how soon do you need it? Terah and I have been loosely chatting about replacing ours around the end of December.
  9. @jasonriedy Absolutely! I have fond memories of one myself as a kid. Apparently I took it to show and tell on occasion.
  10. Just found a rejected adding machine. Office mgr said I can have it. Probably 20 yrs old, built like a tank. Perfect toy for Jacob.
  11. Very happy that Project Gutenberg now publishes ebooks in Mobipocket (Kindle) format.
  12. Reading Three Men on the Bummel. Was reading while giving blood. Red Cross staff surprised that I was laughing so much while I had a nee...
  13. Small town: UPS showed up as we were leaving. Driver *guessed* correctly that we were going to eat supper at the chicken BBQ at church.
  14. @aaronmb feel free :-)
  15. @aaronmb We were suitably impressed with how fast it installs and how little memory it uses compared to Zimbra.
  16. @aaronmb Reasonably well. Found some bugs with syncing recurring all-day monthly events on the BlackBerry, and of course the Iceweasel.
  17. At this very moment, there is someone upstairs busily pulling a thousand black pins off a map and replacing them with yellow pins.
  18. Guess that should have been GAVE blood. Yay for twitter typos.
  19. Give blood. Read Kindle while donating. Ate pie with the owner of a local bike shop. Nice day.
  20. Reading Three Men on the Bummel. 7% done. Funniest novel I've read in quite awhile. An easy, light read so far.
