  1. @ctp GCD is *so amazing*. It will fundamentally change the way we design APIs / frameworks, and enables (and forces) new design patterns.
  2. X-25M G2 installed in PC with TRIM firmware, and X-25M G1 transplanted from PC to Mac Pro. Instant app launches. Boom. Awesome.
  3. RT @morgan3d: Accurate GPU Ambient Occlusion via shadow volumes: http://graphics.cs.williams.edu/papers/AOVTR09/
  4. @kamidphish Hope that clears it all up for you. I don't think there's a document specifically on this. There's http://bit.ly/5DbSKZ.
  5. @kamidphish You can pass one or more -arch options to the compiler to specify which architectures you want to build.
  6. @kamidphish Finally, the system compiler on 10.6 always defaults to building x86_64 if your machine supports it. It is the default arch.
  7. @kamidphish Both kernels support both the 32-bit and the 64-bit userspaces and can execute i386, x86_64 and even PowerPC binaries.
  8. @kamidphish Mac OS X boots a 32-bit kernel by default, but also has a 64-bit kernel. The arch reported by uname reflects that.
  9. @kamidphish How is it confusing? I may be able to help :p
  10. Current hack is to re-declare the property in subclasses (in a continuation in the .m), but to use @dynamic instead of @synthesize.
  11. How can I write a property from a subclass with the property declared writable in the base class's implementation file?
  12. Is it possible to pass a block as the handler function for InstallEventHandler?
  13. @pilky Although checking if someone can code is actually worthwhile. Some people really can't, as @mdhughes has been tweeting.
  14. @pilky Agreed on that. I don't care much to see OpenGL code or what not. The code comes from an understanding of the problem to solve.
  15. @pilky I want to see either experience (e.g. person has solved this already) or ability to solve problems (e.g. show me how you think).
  16. @pilky I disagree. There's a logical and mathematical aspect to many things we do in CS (and graphics in my case) that only need a brain.
  17. @mdhughes I also ask such questions, but I try to separate "candidate knows C++" from "candidate knows linked lists". Languages versus CS.
  18. @wisequark Bud Light, definitely. Everytime a Bud is opened, a german god kills a kitten.
  19. RT @repi: RT @migueldeicaza: Too funny, HDR in video games vs HDR in photography: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7391/1244894383293.jpg
  20. @mattgemmell Adobe Reader is just a failboat now. It's much slower than Preview, Foxit Reader and other viewers. Do not want.
