  1. Planet 51: references every sf movie ever made. But at 2 hours it is about 115 minutes too long. Truly dumb.
  2. @Pete_Brown I just have no problem with seeing Xaml as an encoding of the layout and properties. If the tool were perfect u could ignore Xaml
  3. #goodGrief. To see Planet 51 w my daughter... $21 for the two of us!!
  4. @IdeaKitchn #geekmovietitles. My big fat geek wedding and of course Zorba the nerd.
  5. @JesseLiberty argh! That was: I'm always on Pete's team.
  6. @John_Papa yah and I'm offering the radical notion that we should stop that and ignore Xaml until the basics are covered.
  7. @John_Papa @billreiss not a chance, I am always on Peres team, even when he is dead wrong :-)
  8. @devhammer oaccam's razor & look for how much else must be wrong, eg if evolution by Nat. Sel. is wrong so is most physics, biology, etc.
  9. @devhammer the key is refutability. (BTW, when do you mean? The Athenians knew the world was round as did all educated people in 1492)
  10. @devhammer yes, but the fact that a correct theory was temporarily rejected does not make every rejected theory correct.S
  11. @victorgaudioso I mean stop teaching Silverlight by teaching Xaml-- there is no need to show Xaml until the intermediate/ advanced stage
  12. @Pete_Brown ... For Xaml, IL & assembler, but not first. Why not lower the bar & focus on design/architecture?
  13. @Pete_Brown I strongly disagree and pose this:do you object to teaching asp.net via tools first? What about Winforms? There is a place...
  14. Emerging theme in my Silverlight From Zero blog series: >Stop coding in Xaml - that's what tools are for< http://j.mp/8GMva5
  15. @A_F best bet is to post to Silverlight.net/forums. Give details. If no answer ping me at jliberty@Microsoft.com. Thanks.
  16. @John_Papa @danwahlin @shanselman my $.02: Sold my Kindles & use the phone version; what I lose in size is more than made up for by ubiquity
  17. @shanselman @jongalloway can I come to it virtually??
  18. @scottgal do they if you build them in Blend?
  19. @scottgal so is IL bit most of the time it doesn't affect you and (now) same is true for Xaml.
  20. @joshholmes I love my mac but a loaded mac laptop is. ~$2k and a loaded Win7 machine is less than 1/2 that. To me that equates to niche mkt
