  4. @jimwysocki but teaching for understanding (as I believe you do) looks like kids do more work, but is actually very difficult
  5. @jimwysocki it is easy to say "memorize this", much harder to get students to wrestle with concepts & come out understanding.
  6. @jimwysocki ah yes. In a time of "increased standards", most ppl think that means more facts, I say more emphasis on the students' thinking
  7. @jimwysocki exactly. Teaching the way you do likely takes more effort than lecturing. And is much more effective!

  16. @bandlady I would. I have separate facebook, twitter, skype accounts for students to add me on. Helps separate students from personal life..
