  1. @adammosley Awesome!!
  2. @SaintArnold Will #DR9 be @Specs1962 on Smith Dec 1 when they open? :) (marking calendar now...)
  3. Awesome!! RT @EspressoParts_: Everything you already know about coffee, in charming comic format: http://twurl.nl/d1l46i
  4. @steely_glint yeah, I downloaded the openfire plugin yesterday... haven't played with it yet
  5. @steely_glint How large is your data set? It used to be that the data had to fit in memory... I think the recent release changed that?
  6. @sloanb I'm getting bizarre transaction errors trying to split reads and writes between MySQL slaves and master (using JPA)
  7. Java, I hate you right now. More than usual.
  8. @she_eats happy birthday!! Since I'm sure you haven't heard that yet. :)
  9. RT @wizwow this recovery is so different than previous recoveries: http://bit.ly/pDRcH : when we actually, you know, recovered.
  10. @ishabazz thanks for the links!
  11. @elegantmachines yeah... SMTP is a protocol/platform, Gmail is an instance. Wave needs the same. It's headed that way: http://bit.ly/P82t9
  12. @808blogger basically, the federated server stuff needs to work and be available, at least. Then it becomes really interesting as a platform
  13. @808blogger very interesting! I agree there is a lot of potential in the protocol/platform. To see it realized, IMO it needs decentralizing
  14. @elegantmachines otherwise it's just another collab/messaging product, albeit a very interesting one. It needs ubiquity and local instances.
  15. @elegantmachines the core protocol/platform ideas are really good; it needs to be decentralized to really become the next messaging platform
  16. Josh Ritter's "Idaho" from the Live at Vicar Street record is just perfection
  17. @elegantmachines yeah... where it could have real value is as a platform NOT hosted by google. But it will be long (if ever) to reach that.
  18. @808blogger It will be more interesting when a decent number of services exist as robots or widgets, and if/when it can exist outside google
  19. Google Wave reminds me of the end of Finding Nemo where the fish are floating in their bags... "now what?"
  20. Very interesting! RT @ereinei: The Puzzle of Profanity: http://bit.ly/3jkVA
