  1. wha..? nobody makes the Simon game anymore (you know, 4 colors, you repeat the pattern)? Amazon has "collectibles" for $150?
  2. earth to google calendar: "sports calendars" are no longer a "new feature", it's been there for months
  3. and so I wonder if the Rails DSL has gone too far; instead of allowing variance by block idioms, we have to resort to configuration instead
  4. I find it weird that rails apps do not use Ruby blocks. 3.0 will do away with the only famous blocks that are left (map and respond_to)
  5. There's too much fascination with optimizing tests. Do the simplest thing and remember the goal is to write your app not a fancy test suite.
  6. If you spend > 25% time writing tests instead of implementation code, either your test framework sucks, or you need to get back to work.
  7. wishing sinuses were never invented. hopefully the hawks game tonight will provide sufficient distraction.
  8. Watching Win7 demos on microsoft.com, trying not to be annoyed by how many clicks it takes to get to any real info. Trying very hard.
  9. RT @robconery: Every alpha geek should have to do their own startup to find out how full of crap they are.
  10. @rbriank cbc app looks good so far, thanks for the recommendation
  11. @seeflanigan just an iPod touch, actually. not ready to attempt AT&T service in Chicago, coverage sucks downtown.
  12. do NOT make users do ANYTHING that your APP should be doing: http://skitch.com/jeffcohen/nek1q/2010-informationweek-u.s-it-salary-survey
  13. @fallenrogue I have the scorecard app already, but I just see scores and news... am I missing something? (I have the free version)
  14. No free iPhone app to see NHL standings? or is the search feature failing me again
  15. still looking for a Ruby programmer to join my team at www.leapfrogonline.com. email or DM me.
  16. use code PRAGTHANKS40 and get 40% off our book: http://www.pragprog.com/titles/cerailn
  17. RT @seeflanigan: http://xkcd.com/664/
  18. don't email your customers saying "in the next few months we expect to add features like..." Instead, just do it.
  19. considering a redesign, either minor or major, of purpleworkshops.com. suggestions?
  20. awesome: amazon is helping to encourage the end of the dreaded plastic clamshell packaging! I hope manufacturers are persuaded.
