  1. Researching next year's overseas trip. Trans-Siberian RR has been beckoning for several years. Is 2010 its year?
  2. Hooray, hooray, more rain today!
  3. Rain! We had rain today! Not a lot, but more than the 30-second shower of a few days ago. Enough to make lawn and garden happy.
  4. Returned from Sydney with a (human) virus. Symptoms are fairly mild, but body and brain are very tired. Creativity is out to lunch.
  5. Setting up my "new" iPhone (actually Eric's old one). Had to learn how to change the SIM card (hooray for YouTube), but otherwise easy.
  6. Upgraded my newest computer from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10. Windows then refused to start (same as with 9.04 install), but repair got it going.
  7. Spent a week in Sydney, had a good time, had to work too much but walked a lot anyway.
  8. Revised 2 chapters of OpenOffice.org books. Then 4 more chapters of page proofs (TechEdit book) arrived. Eyes are tired; brain is full.
  9. @Metamagician If there's no god, how can he/she/it damn something? ;-)
  10. Got cool steampunk wallpaper for my computer at the Tor website. The brown & brass fit very nicely with Ubuntu's standard theme colours.
  11. Installed Ubuntu 9.04 on new laptop. Vista promptly stopped working. Repair didn't. Advanced repair did. Back in business, dual boot. #fb
  12. Amazing what I see in page proofs that I didn't in manuscript. After 30+ years of publishing, I should not be surprised, but always am. #fb
  13. Revised 3 chapters of OpenOffice.org Writer Guide, using info learned while writing self-publishing book. Feeding back to the community. #fb
  14. Just received page proofs for two chapters of the TechEdit book. That was a short-lived break. #fb
  15. Whaddaya mean, no I can't have my life back? Oh, yeah, *marketing* the book comes next, like right now.
  16. At last! Self-publishing using OpenOffice.org 3 Writer is (self)published! May I have my life back now? http://www.lulu.com/content...
  17. Reading Dave Luckett's new novel, Subversive Activity, and laughing out loud a lot.
  18. Akismet for Wordpress totally rocks for blocking comment spam, though it does let a few spams through for me to approve or delete. #fb
  19. Finished the first-pass indexing of my self-publishing book, and did some new pix. Editor is running a bit behind on second-pass edits. #fb
