  1. Time to bite the bullet , brave the shops full of Xmas crowds and start playing Santa.
  2. A guest for dinner on Thursday makes it feel like Friday or the weekend. Now I'm totally screwed up. Nothing new there ,then?
  3. It's wonderful to be back home in a cold, wet, traffic-jammed England after our week and a half in sight of the Pyrenees in France. NOT!!
  4. Back #in our house after an absolutely wonderful week playing with ewes and their baby lambs, full of respect for v. hard-working farmers.
  5. 90 mins bouncing around on a rough sea crossing The Channel, now we bounce around outside port for 30 mins - no berth!
  6. Boarded ferry leaving at 2:40 PM. The ferry is 45 mins late but we're 20 mins early. Work that out!
  7. Arrived Calais to yet more travel disruption, presume due to bad weather. Ain't winter wonderful?
  8. About 90 mins from Calais on day 2 of our journey back from being sheep farmers #in Fanjeaux. It's raining. :-(
  9. Arrived Orléans 6:00 PM. Off to find some moules & frites for dinner. Missing the sheep & lambs.
  10. #in transit from Fanjeaux to Orléans after a busy week as apprentice sheep farmers. Sorry to leave all but the straw.
  11. A much brighter start to our last morning here with the lambs in Fanjeaux. We can see the Pyrenees capped in fresh snow.
  12. It's a foul AM here in Fanjeaux for the young kids' visit to cuddle the lambs - absolutely bucketing down.
  13. A rushed morning session with the sheep & lambs this AM in preparation for a visit by 21 young children.
  14. Back from morning session watching a lamb being born, albeit with some assistance. Now, where's that coffee?
  15. #in Another full day as tourist sheep farmers, another very welcoming French family. Great fun!
  16. #in Massive respect for sheep farmers now that we know what they go thru', including being a vet. It's demanding work but fun for a week.
  17. #in Up and about at 6:30 AM for another day of working hard with the ewes and lambs. It's a good job we're only sheep farmers for a week.
  18. Finally found time (midnight - 1:30 AM) to post a few blog entries + photos on our lambing work. http://www.curdhome.co.uk/blog
  19. No new lambs overnight so this morning's shift was mainly feeding. Farmer Luc also tagged the existing new lambs' ears.
  20. Early AM shift revealed 11 new lambs. 2 were delivered manually by Luc. Off to Limoux market soon for some R&R.
