  1. #buccaneerscholar Nice little plug about "Buccaneer" from California's 2007 teacher of the year: http://bit.ly/8AnH3J
  2. @Mikeriog Do you know Robert Sabourin -- an instructor at McGill? He is one of my favorite colleagues.
  3. @MetricJunkie: Thanks for the RT! I *did* use metricjunkie to determine that data, by the way... :)
  4. "Buccaneer Scholar" is featured on gizmodo.com home page. 24 hours ago, his Amazon sales rank was 116,128. It is now 313.
  5. Downloaded Ruby, looking for a good book to get me started. Any recommendations?
  6. @timothyjcoulter: Any tester or programmer friends here, let me know. I need alternates (or more if we grow).
  7. Testers! Check this site out... little "quiz" games to keep your brain active and thinking of possibilities: http://bit.ly/12Y9JP
  8. Still looking for testers here in PDX, by the way. I need a bank of testers as alternates or if the client wants to expand if we do well.
  9. How to start a testing team -- don't force it, *allow* it to emerge on its own.
  10. Portland team: hired: team intros, triangle audition debrief, project briefing, pizza lunch, a recon session, tester games, group dinner.
  11. Thanks to everyone for their encouragement during my short unemployment. Time to return the favor, and to build up karma again.
  12. Back at Quardev as Manager for Corporate Intellect. First task to is to build a team for a client in Portland, using SBTM to manage work.
  13. I'm employed again! (Yes, I filed for benefits, but did not need to use them.) So, expect the unemployment rate to drop .0000007% this week.
  14. @jamesmarcusbach doing a signing right now at Borders Southcenter until 4pm
  15. @yaronkottler: That's from one of my brother's (@jamesmarcusbach) talks on Exploratory Testing. I like that phrasing, too.
  16. @mheusser: yep, it's the same Equis thing. I assume you already told him about it?
  17. @shadowspar: Not on this project, but I do have a work from home (senior SDET) for another client. Send me an email for details.
  18. In Portland (PDX) interviewing 10 people for 5 spots (2 TEs, 2 SDETs, and a Lead) for a local client. Unemployed testers, now's your chance!
  19. @shrinik: Example: to me as a user, calc.exe has no defects. If I start using it in a different way, however, I may find one.
  20. @shrinik: zero-defect software: This is possible.... just define the operational profile so narrowly that the word "defect" has no meaning.
