  1. The Magic Mouse is officially the strangest input device I've ever encountered.
  2. Trying out Mojo as a replacement for Maypole. Not looking forward to porting this code.
  3. Faculty trained. Meetings done. TGIF.
  4. Training presentation for tomorrow is veering toward Powerpoint karaoke. Talking about a web app for an hour with no connectivity. Le sigh.
  5. I need a search engine wired to my brain for when I know what it looks like, but not its name. 'z/lighting/zigzag thingy' returns 0 results
  6. Looking for a good example of Z/zigzag/lightning effect for indicating that 2 images are from single pic with middle removed. #epicfail
  7. seriously considering moving most work to SQLite, as well...
  8. If you were choosing an open web framework as a dev platform for your org, which would you choose?
  9. Just saw the announcement that Maypole is ceasing development. I guess ITAC apps will be moving to a different platform...
  10. Reinstalling Perl modules like a madman. Didn't even think about that when I switched machines...I really should have automated this.
  11. THis new MBP is the most substantial laptop I've owned since my old MB 5300. I hope it's as solid as it feels.
  12. Glad to see Apple has *vastly* improved Migration. Took a while to xfer everything to the new MBP, but all my files, apps and prefs made it.
  13. 7TB of new storage on its way over, to augment the 2TB we've blown through already this year. The mind boggles.
  14. I missed the big news about Belle de Jour this weekend. Glad she was able elude the press for all these years and do it on her owns terms.
  15. Inbox at 2336? That's new. Happy Monday.
  16. Coffee maker died this morning; now doing research on replacements. I didn't realize Senseo pods biodegrade. When will Keurig get on board?
  17. @tildedave: no 1 device will ever serve everyone. Menus won't help phys. disabled. It's the idea of "one size fits all" that's the problem.
  18. @tildedave: diff rules for diff media aren't reasonable. Saying we must ensure access is diff from saying we must ensure *Kindle* access.
  19. @tildedave: the question is, why? With books it's enough to provide an alternative (audio, Braille). Why are electronic devices different?
  20. @tildedave: This is round 2. Syracuse and UW-Madison are trying to avoid ASU's fate: http://bit.ly/4riw3X DOJ complaints are also involved.
