  1. Had dreams involving Neil Gaiman, an insanely complex production of Lord of the Rings as adapted by Sophocles, and my old school.
  2. I just made a title sequence, which is happy-making. But god, Adobe, could you make it a little more fiddly please? Jeez.
  3. Dear Microsoft. When I sign up for a trial using my hotmail address, do not use another random address you might have on file to contact me.
  4. @SteveMarshall: yeah, just getting a second eye on things moves everything along much faster :/
  5. Anyone out in Soho tonight? Dm me if there's space for four :-)
  6. @rboulton: I know the feeling :) Definitely going to EuroIA this year though…I hope.
  7. @rboulton: avoid first week/weekend (dConstruct & Barcamp Brighton). Avoid 24th-27th (EuroIA).
  8. @evarley: yes, absolutely. But on-the-ground reporters are (should be) backed up to allow in-studio synthesis. Web…not so good at this.
  9. #sohofire a great example of citizen reportage not actually telling a story. (7/7 had the same problem AIRI.)
  10. Still blown away by Kathryn Joosten on The West Wing. And honestly, to stand out on that show…
  11. Dear Gen M: we like narrative and paragraphs, not bullet points, & so still are—the old people who run the world http://is.gd/1szA9
  12. Would someone please implement Wake-On-IM for Mac? Thank you kindly.
  13. Trying to write a 50 word biography. Lacking any kind of focus whatsoever, I'm trying to mention castles, TZ and @JamesLark and my book.
  14. Everyone seems to be concentrating on the glitz of the Rachael UI, not the functionality. Grouping different comms media: good plan.
  15. Impressed with the lengths the BBC go to to stop me watching their content. iPlayer online stopped working. No search in iPlayer Desktop.
  16. @dan_mcneil: or the audio quality really isn't good enough. If you can notice it, there's a problem. Like CGI, or Kenny Everett.
  17. @dan_mcneil: oh, I agree. However audiophiles (say, some R3 listeners) will disagree. They'll also have problems with CDs, though :-)
  18. Who'd have known that Downfall would be the most re-subtitled film ever? (Assuming, but…ZOMG YouTube.)
  19. @dan_mcneil: it's not slight hiss that's the problem as the bitrate goes below 192 AIUI; & profusion of channels hasn't yet improved quality
  20. Is it only me that finds it amusing that Christian Engström's article on copyright and online on FT.com is behind a pay barrier?
