  1. It's on Netflix Streaming, by the way, if you want to see the sort of thing that makes me totally dork out.
  2. Starting "Cosmos" again. It is my creative Jesus: the beautiful thing my work can never become, but can nevertheless always aspire towards.
  3. I'm starting to warm to "the late twenty-aughts".
  4. Serious Q: How would you refer to the years 2005-ish through 2010-ish? ~1995-2000 is "The late 1990s", but "the late 2000s" sounds wrong?
  5. The trouble with services run by super-competent sysadmins: They require semiannual password resets. Blargh.
  6. Sysadmin-looking fellow sauntering down street, wearing pith helmet. #canttellifidreamtthislastnightoractuallysawittheotherday
  7. I wish I could double-fave favorites already on my favorite list. And that I was the only person with this ability. Y'all'd just abuse it.
  8. Solving crosswords (via Cross Light on iPhone) over breakfast. Expect to be doing this daily through, oh, mid-January perhaps.
  9. I'm gonna operate under the totally made-up assumption that each index card represents about fifteen seconds of screentime. Hmm.
  10. Trying something new for Gameshelf show-writing: index cards. Jmac-babbles-about-something on front, description of corresp. visuals on back
  11. Wish I could play around in Dungeon Crawl source code without feeling timewastey. Maybe it'll be my next post-release dessert project...
  12. Also: Bangor Daily News's website was openly pro-SSM, yesterday. When I worked in its newsroom 15 yrs ago, place was openly homophobic. So.
  13. Thanks you for doing your best yesterday, non-troglodytic portion of my old Maine. You are outnumbered by less every year. Keep fighting.
  14. Board game review where you point at the board and babble about the rules = movie review where you wave the film canister around and talk.
  15. (Please understand that I was a Maine-based reporter when Q1 came 'round the first time, so am honestly gobsmacked it's back. Geez, people.)
  16. Hey Q1 supporters: after this, consider proposing law to ban dangerous horseless carriages on I-95! Now is the time to press your momentum.
  17. "Oh crap the fags won - let's try again after 13 years of modern kids growing up into voting age" seems like a non-viable strategy to me.
  18. Best wishes to all fighting the good fight up in Maine. (Though I'm confused; wasn't Q1 answered 13 years ago? I am behind...)
  19. Loving "Saturn's Children" (Stross), but cheezy cover art makes me embarrassed to read it I'm public.
  20. In happier news, glad that XKCD has apparently stirred up geek-interest in "Primer", one of my favorite recent-but-obscure movies. Watch it.
