  6. OK. Downloading an Ubuntu 9.10 LiveCD. If I can't get it working properly I'm going for the nuclear option: Windows 7.

  8. @sammcgeown I may well do. The upgrade went wrong and now the machine won't even boot up. Does "karmic" mean "doesn't work" or something?
