  1. tip: don't bother taking your left over fettucini alfredo home with you from the restaurant. It won't taste anything like it the next day.
  2. @chadfowler I tend to do that on purpose when I sing happy b-day. It makes the occasion more memorable. :)
  3. looks like that trip to yellowpine idaho cost us about $800 more than anticipated. gravel roads are not friendly to AC condensers, bleh :/
  4. Thanks to @tyler_jennings for the Farseer recommendation. Finished Assasin's Apprentice tonight; VERY GOOD!
  5. I've tried three times in the last week to subscribe to ruby-talk. No idea why it is silently failing.
  6. @plattedaddy I'm not going to argue it. Suffice to say we disagree.
  7. @plattedaddy ?? high-fat, high-sugar? In moderation it won't kill you, but it's hardly health-food :)
  8. buttercream frosting is just one more evidence that what tastes best is worst for you
  9. looks like two fledgling birds died by falling from their nest above our garage. Sad :(
  10. @wyhaines it's an intriguing series. I'm taking it slow, tho. Between each book, I read something else. Reading "Assassin's Apprentice" now
  11. finished "memories of ice" on sunday. Aside from Erikson's penchant for overusing the word "febrile", I quite liked it.
  12. Home from Yellow Pine, ID. unpacking, yuck.
  13. so it's official: I'll be keynoting at the Ruby Hoedown this year: http://rubyhoedown.com/. Really looking forward to it. Thanks, @jm!
  14. @chrismear yeah, though I had three sisters. You'd think more would have bled over from that :)
  15. somehow, my childhood mostly skipped cat's cradle. I'm making up for lost time with my kids, now.
  16. @wbruce *waves* you should have stopped and said hi! :)
  17. my toddler calls band-aids "bad days". And I think, how appropriate.
  18. just finished making some homemade raspberry ice cream. curing now, we'll see how it is tomorrow!
  19. my dad sent us some trader joe's sunflower seed butter. How have I gone this long without having this stuff? so good!
  20. @KathySierra "[they] aren't clients [I'd] want" sounds like a sour grapes justification to me.
