  1. last night I hacked a bit on @rubinius, attempting to add openssl cipher support. Then I dreamt @evanphx told me not to. Significant?!?
  2. @Tricon it's really not even the static typing I like. In general I think static typing is too restrictive (for me). I just love C syntax.
  3. got to use gdb today, for the first time in too long. I really do enjoy working with C.
  4. @noradio dude, you get all the good spam!
  5. @capotej because it is not being declared via attr_accessor. it's using method_missing instead. thus, anti-pattern.
  6. "method_missing" as a shortcut for known accessors is an anti-pattern. It is convenient, but not maintainable. Let's all agree to stop that.
  7. @obxdesignworks ha, my pleasure. :) I'll be happy to take credit forever. it's the bug reports I don't do anymore. ;)
  8. @bil_kleb curious to hear how that ends, if you're at liberty to share when you have a solution!
  9. home, sweet home! #rubyconf was great, but it's great to be back with family
  10. @jbarnette excellent! glad you put it to good use!
  11. Had a great time sharing string figures with several rubyists at #rubyconf. I'll bring more strings next time!
  12. @gustin Thanks for letting me share string figures with you! It really is a lot of fun.
  13. string figures in the #rubyconf atrium immediately after the conference. 6 strings to give away, show up if you're interested!
  14. the #mongodb git repo takes an eternity to clone over the #rubyconf network... *yawns*
  15. @markimbriaco ping when you get to the hotel. I'm famished. :)
  16. Not a fan of big cities. Anything over 100k feels far too big.
  17. heading to #rubyconf!
  18. @packagethief gotta be careful of canadians carrying contraband donuts
  19. @joshpeek see you in a few hours!
  20. RT @jasonfried So clever. A scroll-bar clock: http://toki-woki.net/p/scro...
