  1. @XuanThu: I dunno. I thought they played up the emotions with the loss of Kirk's Dad and Spock's Mom. "Khan" had only the one tearjerker.
  2. just came back from surfing with William. Both of us caught a whole lot of nothing. Surfing is like the golf of aquatic sports. #fb
  3. I wish they'd make a wetsuit that makes you look like less of a seal to sharks when you surf. There goes my million dollar idea. #fb
  4. went to the beach today. Played in the water for a couple of hours then we BBQ'd marinated shrimp, beef and zucchini. Because we could. #fb
  5. very few things in life are as ridiculous looking as Capoeira. #fb
  6. got a visit from the Jehovah's Witnesses. Mayumi dodged them with the "sorry, I'm Buddhist and so I don't care about Jesus" defense. #fb
  7. @causticjb: getting out of debt == good. CCSF's fee of $20/unit == pretty damn good. ;D
  8. @causticjb: I like it actually. Not enough to major in math or anything mind you... ;) My engineering sequence is really math heavy tho'.
  9. @causticjb: right on! I look forward to talking more about math with you. I'm currently taking the highest level math classes my JC offers.
  10. @causticjb: This summer I'm taking a course called Discrete Math which I'm told also deals with obscure # sets. I'll have more info then.
  11. @causticjb: A good portion of Linear Algebra deals with working with crazy sets of numbers in completely obscure dimensions.
  12. @causticjb: I mention pre-calculus because the subject of graphing complex #s is treated at that level.
  13. @causticjb: I don't know if it will help, but it might be worth it to pick up some books on pre-calculus and linear algebra.
  14. @causticjb: yup. Since any complex # can be associated with a point on the xy plane (or multi-dimens. planes) a relationship always exists.
  15. @causticjb: actually you can represent complex numbers (and graph them) in polar coordinates as well.
  16. @causticjb: Plus you save $$ and bring up your GPA by doing lower-div ugrad work at JC level. This is, incidentally, what I am doing.
  17. @causticjb: cost and time vs. benefit-wise this is the best combination, IMO. You can do CCSF and still work, then xfer to a UC when ready.
  18. @causticjb: TAG == Transfer Admission Guarantee, http://tinyurl.com/dcldcq
  19. @causticjb: re: Math BS: my unsolicited advice: get pre-reqs done at CCSF, then TAG in to a UC. Hang on, I'll get a link for TAG.
