  1. Round trip coach $500, round trip first class $535. Same airline, destination. Same week. The travel industry pricing makes no sense to me.
  2. defect hyperbole - use of unrealistic data to prove a defect exists. For example, someone might be named AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA so allow that!
  3. $100 laser printer, that comes w/ toner cartridge, has replacement cartridges that cost $75. I'm gonna buy a new printer each time instead.
  4. Laser printer seemed to be out of toner. I removed cartridge, shook it, placed back into printer. Prints fine now. I'm bewildered.
  5. One thing Perl has over every other language, it's an absolute genius at knowing when to treat a variable as a number or a string.
  6. I've noticed I spend more time checking/validating functionality and not so much trying to test/break the app. But testing is the fun part!
  7. Is distributing tests across multiple machines a clever way to speed them up or a symptom of a bigger problem?
  8. slowtestophobia - irrational fear of slow running tests which leads developers to delete them instead of finding ways to speed them up

  11. Noticed a Ruby method ending with = sign to show method sets a value, method without it just returns the value. Not sure I like that!
  12. RubyMine 2.0 is out of beta. Time to upgrade. I'm hoping the Cucumber support is everything I'm dreaming it to be.
  13. This Testing vs Checking debate ( http://bit.ly/169xDE ) makes me realize TDD should be renamed Check DD or even Verification DD.
  14. I think Excel is the hammer of the software world. It makes everything look like a nail, even glass.
  15. I also saw 2012. I liked it. Excellent special effects. I'm expecting the blu-ray to be 50% better, there's too much detail for one sitting.
  16. Saw my first electric car over the weekend, a Tesla Roadster!
  17. I just wasted an hour thinking something wasn't working but it turns out irb was caching one of my required files! How frustrating! D:
