  1. I guess that's also an indication that I've been in one place too long, or haven't been dusting enough. But dust here has a life of its own.
  2. The first stage of packing here, is dusting. An understatement—it's more like scraping layers of grimy cotton-wool off a festering wound.
  3. Sun: Learned that kimchi and soju at a funky Korean dive followed by fake cappuccino & cake at a dodgy tourist dive in Paharganj don't mix.
  4. Sat: played on some swings in NOIDA (until ousted by a little girl); and was nearly mistaken for a 'lifestyle design' cult recruiter.
  5. I think my Cape Town 'plan' is off the books for now, I can't really justify a[nother] long-haul flight for only a couple of months.
  6. @AlanPerlman I haven't read it, but seems like the term was invented to fashion a market around the book. • Likewise; your travels inspire!
  7. WARNING: DUE TO LACK OF SPACE AND TIME #TWITTER IS A GENERALISATION.
  8. @avehimenon Culture propagates downwards from advanced societies; in the lessor LD has more function ($$) but less need (tighknit families).
  9. @codymckibb It seems [some of the community] has rather commercialised it turning it into a marketing moniker rather than a life manifesto.
  10. Two good posts on 'Lifestyle Design': http://is.gd/4YBEH http://is.gd/4YBFe Much of it is looking a bit like inauthentic sales gloss to me.
  11. Just discovering there's a whole category of 'people like me', apparently we're Lifestyle Designers and Location Independent Professionals.
  12. This blog post is just what I wanted to hear as I'm considering displacing myself to Lisbon for a bit: http://bit.ly/JplwE @touch2give
  13. Rodrigo y Gabriela (great band, introduced to me by a Delhi expat) as an example of 'getting real' on Signal vs. Noise: http://bit.ly/2m6sIy
  14. Tony Gatlif's films rock. With lots of Gypsy guitar, accordion, foot-stomping, and exploratory camera angles. http://bit.ly/gatlif
  15. Getting mildly fed up with my "oops" 500 server error page. Tip: don't customise your error pages until you've finished development.
  16. The lua-list thread on 'Go'/goroutines quickly became a discussion on the relative merits of dead languages such as ALGOL68…and Cornish.
  17. Ah, Delhi mornings, and the heady aroma of the local rubbish pile being set alight. Nothing quite like inhaling charred particulate plastic.
  18. @teflonliving A friend had a crapheap (Ford Capri) with such holes in the footwells. So convenient for disposing of trash, shoes, feet…!
  19. Dogs have larger footprints than 4x4s. http://is.gd/4NDvi Pigs are better pets—you can feed them waste, and they're tastier than dogs.
  20. Thinking about #Obj-C makes me cringe but executing it is fine. Thinking about #Java is okay, but executing it kills me. #Lua is all good :)
