  1. It's a strange place: I feel rest has done me good, but my endurance confidence is shaken. Just ran a comfy 5 miles. Not sure what it means.
  2. I'm such a lazy hot dog. Jury duty held me to one 2.5-mile run last week. Now I'm all clogged w/ThanksG prep. The trot will be interesting.
  3. I totally flunked a race-pace drill last night, but redeemed my spirits with a jaunty 5-miler before work this morning.
  4. Can I curb the injury before it curbs me? Right shin pain has been increasing last few runs. I'll give it a spin tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
  5. The easiest way to do a long run: don't plan for it. Headed out for 4-5 miles on beautiful Saturday, came home with an easy 10 @ 8:40/mile.
  6. North, south, east, west and everything in between: 6 easy miles @ 8:30 pace, not once did I get a tail wind! But I did hit 4+ miles uphill.
  7. It's so hard to accept onset of cold, wet season. Bleh! Totally ditched a long run this a.m: woke up, dressed, looked outside, back to bed.
  8. Phlegm, phlegm, phlegm. Still on the mend to the tune of 5 miles @8:02 pace. Can I run 37:00 @ Trot? We'll see. Up next: cycling to 30 Rock.
  9. Slow, careful return for GP: 4 miles @ 9:00 (#3 @ 8:00... and it felt so good!) followed by 20 min cycling. I expect to feel normal by Wed.
  10. Down for the count. I had an A+ training day Monday and then... BLAMMO! Sick. Flu, cold, whatever. Now I'm getting by w/ pedaling indoors.
  11. Neil's still eying Usain Bolt: he ran a fast quarter in 3x2mi w/E last night, finishing all-time high 7 miles. And I posted 11 for the day!
  12. B-yoo-tiful day to run! Mixed workout: 4 miles @ 7:48/mile (incl. 4x:30 hill reps) splits 8:37, 7:06, 7:43, 7:47. Feels fab to run fast!
  13. Neil's doing awesome: 6 miles @ 9:15/mile at Metroparks! I need to return to my training + stop doing his... seriously, speedwork tomorrow.
  14. Ran 11 miles home f/work Wed., then lamed out after 3 on 6-miler w/Neil. Hammies are barking after Thurs. yoga w/E. Now I need speedwork!
  15. Just chomped lamb stew after 5 miles @ 8-10/mile with Neo. He's building up mileage w/1.5-mile sets and shrinking walk breaks. I tag along.
  16. It felt so fabu racing a pompous dude though Central Park and then kicking brunch later w/ Neil+Dan (loving me some harvest porridge).
  17. I admit it: a few too many cookies today. But they were very fresh... still warm! Miles in the morning so I don't develop a wall of shame.
  18. Squished a run b/t meetings, but I never warmed up over 4 hilly miles @ 8:30/mile (target 8:15). Oh well. Back to pedaling on my trainer!
  19. Changed my first bike tire: I couldn't find my patch kit, so I used 2 combs! I attribute it all to my mama (who needs stinkin' tools?).
  20. Neo's back at it too: We ran a healthy warm-up, 2 evenly paced miles and autumnal cool-down. He's looking for a 42:00 5M PR @ Turkey Trot.
