  1. Site might go down for next few days for maintenance. Finally have fast internet and am working on missed updates and photo uploads
  2. Looks like the bike is finally falling apart. Lost a chain link and 3 spokes yesterday, headed to Tucuman to search for replacements
  3. Fast forwarding journey due to scarce funds, had a little help from bus & train in Southern Peru & Bolivia. Now in Argentina on way to BsAs
  4. Tired of waiting for Bolivian internet to enter 21st century - cross the border into Argentina tomorrow
  5. Arrived in Cuzco this morning but Momster has gotten a bad case of altitude sickness right off the plane - may postpone Machu Picchu a bit
  6. Sunrise in the endless deserts of Peru - about the only beautiful thing in this wasteland
  7. 15 hours. 180 kilometers. sunscreen. sweat. sand. wind. Sechura.
  8. Tomorrow, February 9th 2009 will be one year anniversary of my journey through Americas. Also leave at 4am to ride through Sechura desert

  10. Finally made it to Macara alive (barely). At long last am at Peruvian border - cross over tomorrow morning
  11. Leaving Loja today - had a change of route. Will be passing through Catamayo, Catacocha, & Macará on way to border, then to Piura in Peru
  12. SIM and bank cards arrived today - time to head to Peru! Leave at daybreak tomorrow
