  1. @Impressivesort I didn't say it was a thousand lines of *usable* CSS. In fact, that's my point. It's 95% slovenly cruft. @BookDesignGirl
  2. @Impressivesort This "hand-crafted CSS file" probably also contained a thousand lines of boilerplate gunk. True, @BookDesignGirl? #eprdctn
  3. @gilnyc All the chocolate has somehow disappeared. :(
  4. @younglibrarian *Around* but not *at*. Decided it's worthwhile only for the socializing, most of which happens outside Javits.
  5. @HuisceBeatha Erp?
  6. On the Internet, nobody knows you hab nobocaine face.
  7. Attention, drinkers: The e-book of DIY Cocktails is free all week; looks v. useful. B&N: is.gd/auKLGO | Amazon: is.gd/Kyb7Or
  8. @gilhova Hmm. Let me know how that works out for you.
  9. @gilhova I thought that one was more of a diet than an exercise program.
  10. @rcgordon So spell-check catches a lot of them, because they tend to form nonwords. The rest can only be caught by human proofing, probably.
  11. @rcgordon The problem's actually that when hyphenated words or phrases broke over two lines in print, edge hyphens got removed. #eprdctn
  12. @rcgordon I'm not convinced that this book was converted from an InDesign file. In any case, I'm just repairing the existing EPUB. #eprdctn
  13. @MatthewDiener Thanks. I'll add it to the list of reasons my company should purchase oXygen.
  14. @MatthewDiener Bad conversion—mostly end-of-line hyphens. Not a ton, but enough to make me spellcheck all 48 chapters. One by one. #eprdctn
  15. #eprdctn Anyone have a way to check spelling on a whole EPUB? Neither BBEdit nor DW lets you check a whole folder; only one file at a time.
  16. @evbjone Whee! Is that *your* rhubarb?
  17. I love you, white-haired lady wearing hot-pink gumboots, rocking out to your headphones while waiting to cross the street.
