  2. Got our first invite for dinner with a neighbor. (far more customary in the "Heartland") Yay!!
  3. Bug loved the fireworks. Her- "Mommy, the booms are making the sky all messy! After the pretty booms, angels will come clean up the mess!"
  4. Waiting for the fireworks to start and eating kettle corn...yum!!
  5. Lamenting to B that the movers destroyed all our boxes, his reply-"That's ok, as a declaration of home ownership, we're NOT keeping them!"
  6. Being here, watching all the local clubs, bands, firemen, schools; it is actually making me tear up. This is our community.

  13. It was made worse by the fact that our stuff got unloaded and reloaded twice and stored. Thankfully, our furniture is all cheap stuff. :-)
  14. Beckins, the original company, took a credit card for the deposit & said nothing about selling the job or that we would need cash.
  15. They sold the "job" to Serenity Van Lines... Who sub contracted Best Price Movers, who hired local Labor Ready workers with no experience.
  16. To answer the ?? The movers we hired were brokers, kind of a scam. They were called Beckins, we didn't realize it wasn't Bekins.
  17. Never did find those packing fairies...maybe I can find some UN- packing fairies????
  18. Oh, wow. After 16 nights without it, this girl is sooo appreciating her OWN bed. Yes, yes, yes!!!!
  19. I have no idea if we have any recourse; this whole thing sure sucks. But in the end...we got our stuff...mostly...and it IS just stuff.
