  2. Leftover goose neck, gizzard, heart all slowly confit-ing on the stove top. Rillettes for lunch today with leftover cranberry sauce.
  3. Dinner tonight: Venison rolled up with juniper, mustard, garlic, and rosemary. Local, organic, bla, bla, bla. I shot the deer. It was local.
  4. Goose! Pork liver! Cope's corn pudding! Scrapple and eggs! God bless eastern Pennsylvania on Thanksgivng week. Some of my all time fav food.

  7. Made venison chili last niht for dinner. 6 different kinds of dried chiles, 1/2# of bacon, pressure cooker. Zero tomatoes. Big, bold, spice.
  8. Love days like this 1. The chill in the air feels so clean, the sun is white and deceivingly bright. Makes me want to hunker-down w/ fondue.
  9. Made fries tonight with a Yukon from Grand Army Plaza. The potato was SO SWEET it practically ruined the dinner. The wife is SUPER pissed!
  10. My meals seem to revolve around using up the whole fridge shelf devoted to condiments. Today saw the end of my Avery Island Reserve Tabasco.
  11. Pandora's on, and on the ad; pic of McD's Angus 1/3# burger. I ate dinner already. Is it the food styling that makes that shit look so good?
  12. Just finished reading The Complete Book of Tanning and Skins and Furs by, James E. Churchill. Learned a lot, and now I'm ready for winter.
  13. @glavs No. NO!!! You've been at work for 2 days straight? I think that's illegal. You should leave, post haste! Seriously, get out of there!
  14. Annatto seeds are getting harder and harder to find in Brooklyn (achiote paste- near impossible), a sure sign of the neighborhood's demise.
  15. Had an all-day breakfast sandwich for dinner. Made me a happy, happy man. Bacon, roasted tomato, egg, cheese, and a little something extra.
  16. Yesterday was worth repeating. Out-of-work food editors, photo peeps, and stylists bowled the day away, then cooked and ate dinner together.
  17. Tune into PBS today (3:30 in nyc) to see Yours Truly eating and cooking in Mexico w/ @ruthreichl ...cuidado, esta muy delicioso!
  18. Soup dumplings for dinner. Watching Annie on TV for the first time in 20 years. Know every word by heart. Might be a perfect Friday night.

  20. Butternut tartlets for fancy party last night (was work). But the leftover squash, custard, stale bread for breakfast pudding (was awesome).
